Group fund and open-amount QR: collect by bank transfer

Organizing a group fund or an open-amount payment link in Tunisia: how it works, displayed goal, direct bank transfer to your RIB.

Published on 4 min read

A group gift, a donation, a tip, a free contribution to an event: in all these cases the amount is not known in advance and everyone gives what they want. A standard invoice, with a fixed amount, doesn't fit. Two optional virement.tn modules meet this need.

The open-amount QR

A fixed, reusable link or QR code, where the payer chooses the amount themselves. You can set minimum and maximum limits if you wish.

Typical uses: free donation, tip, contribution, payment for a small service with no prepared invoice.

The group fund

It is the same principle, with a displayed goal and a closing date: everyone contributes the amount they want, and everyone sees the progress.

Typical uses: group gift, contribution to a trip or an event, collection for an association or a project.

How it works

  1. You enable the module from Settings → Features (modules are off by default, so nothing clutters your menu).
  2. You create the link or the group fund: title, description, destination RIB, and for a group fund, the goal and the closing date.
  3. You share the link or the QR code.
  4. Each contributor chooses their amount and pays by bank transfer from their bank.
  5. You follow the contributions as they come in; each transfer confirmed by the bank is recorded.

What it is not

  • Not a deposit account. Money does not pile up at virement.tn: each contribution is a direct transfer to your RIB.
  • Not anonymous. Each contributor goes through their virement.tn space, as for any invoice.
  • No direct debit. Nobody is debited without having decided it.

Tips for a successful fundraiser

  • Explain what the money is for in the description.
  • Set a realistic goal: watching the bar advance motivates more than an unreachable target.
  • Give a closing date to create a rhythm.
  • Say thank you to contributors at the end: it is what makes the next fundraiser possible.

The open-amount QR and group fund modules are included in every pack: only the volume of transfers varies, see pricing. To understand the general principle of payment by bank transfer, read how it works.

Frequently asked questions

Does the money in a group fund go through virement.tn?

No. Each contribution is treated as a standard invoice, paid by bank transfer directly to the organizer's RIB. virement.tn does not hold the funds and has no intermediate account.

Do contributors need an account?

Yes, they go through their virement.tn space, as for any other invoice.

Can you set a goal and a closing date?

Yes, for a group fund: the goal is displayed, and a closing date can be set.
